What it costs
An exterior wash for the week you are in, and a full detail for the year your car has had.
One is the wash a car needs most weeks. The other is the half day you give a car that has not had one in years. There is no third tier waiting at the bay.

Car washing is taxed at 18% GST under SAC 998714, and both figures above already include it. Large SUVs and anything that has been off road are quoted at the bay before we start, never after.
The order is the method. Nothing here is a flourish, and nothing on the list gets dropped when the bay is busy.
Water first, at low pressure, before a mitt or a sponge comes anywhere near the car. Grit still sitting on the paint is the thing that cuts it, so it leaves in the rinse water instead of under somebody’s hand. Most of the swirl marks you can see in a dark bonnet on a sunny day were put there by skipping this step.
Snow foam goes on thick and is left to dwell, which softens road film and lifts what the rinse could not reach. By the time anything makes contact, most of the dirt has already let go of the paint.
One bucket holds the shampoo. The second holds nothing but rinse water, and the mitt goes into it after every pass. The grit the mitt picked up settles at the bottom of that second bucket rather than travelling back onto the next panel. With one bucket, it goes straight back on the car.
Vacuum, a wipe over the trim, and glass cleaned on both faces. The inside of the windscreen is the pane everybody skips and the one you look through at every set of oncoming headlights.
Blown dry rather than towel dried, because a towel dragged across a dry panel is one more contact step nobody asked for. Then a spray sealant, so the next few weeks of dust and rain sit on top of the paint instead of settling into it.
We wash and detail cars. Saying where that stops is easier than explaining it to you afterwards, with your car already on the bay.
No servicing, no oil changes, no diagnostics, no parts. If something under the bonnet needs attention we are the wrong bay, and we will tell you that rather than have a go.
Dents, rust and respray are body shop work. The full detail is a single stage machine polish, which evens out the finish. It does not fill a dent or remove a scratch deep enough to catch a fingernail in.
An automatic tunnel puts 100 to 150 litres through one vehicle and runs the same brushes over every car in the queue. Ours is hand work behind a pressure washer, which draws 6 to 8 litres a minute.
The lists above are the lists. The two things that genuinely change a price, a large SUV or a car straight off a building site, are quoted before we start rather than added at the end.
